There is a Platteville Tornado Relief Fund set up at Mound City Bank, 25 E Pine St, Platteville. The money will go towards businesses and residents who were affected by the 2 tornadoes that hit the Platteville area on June 16th.
Iverson will start paving a Thin Overlay on Southwest Road from Chestnut to Longhorn, then 2nd St from Furnace to Madison, then Mineral from Water to Bonson, then time providing, Commerce from Main to Mineral.
Work will begin approximately mid-morning on Friday 10/24. Access will be limited while the work is ongoing. Once work is complete, traffic will be able to resume with no difficulties. We prefer no street parking until the next day.
Other streets to be done at a later time include Joseph Court, Perry Drive and Pleasant Valley.
Absentee voting in the City Clerk’s office starts today – Monday, October 20th!
Absentee voting hours are:
Monday, October 20th – Thursday, October 23rd
Monday, October 27th – Friday, October 31st
Trick or Treating hours in the City of Platteville will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31st.

In preparation for the upcoming fiber optic project in Platteville, representatives from CenturyLink may be reviewing their lines and facilities along easements in backyards. Such work may also extend beyond normal business hours. Do not be alarmed if you see these folks. They are working to improve service in Platteville. All CenturyLink personnel have Photo ID if you are concerned.
