My position as the Police Office Coordinator sounds vague but it has a lot of variety! I download video for interviews/booking rooms/downtown cameras, handle training registrations and compliance, submit crime reports to the state, oversee the parking permit program, maintain personnel files, maintain our webpage - including updating the daily news releases, order supplies, approve bills, monitor the budget and assist with budget planning, maintain the parking overdue notice program, provide statistics as needed for meetings, prepare the dispatch schedule, process timecards, prepare our An
I enjoy working for the city of Platteville because I find the first-shift hours to be convenient, and I also enjoy the opportunity to work outdoors. I have lived in Platteville my whole life, so it’s rewarding to see the community benefit from the work I do. There is opportunity for advancement, and chances to better myself within my department that I look forward to throughout my career.
As you can imagine by the title, this is a variety filled position. I never have the same day twice. On the Parks & Recreation side of things, one of my favorite jobs is registering kids for summer soccer and swim lessons, and passes for the swimming pool. I love to interact with the families and get them set up for a fun and active summer.
