Airport Commission member Bill Kloster, Interim Airport Director Britney Boxrucker and City Manager Clint Langreck met with the project manager and contractor to conduct a punch-list walk-through of the newly constructed airport hangar, on Friday, July 21st.  The City of Platteville is the owner of the newly constructed hangar, which will be managed under the control of the Airport Commission.  This is part of the Platteville Municipal Airport Commissions vision to attract economic growth to Platteville and the surrounding area.  This new hangar will allow for a new tenant and free up another hangar to allow the Airport to hangar transit aircraft.

A vast majority of the project was funded through Federal Airport Administration’s Airport Improvement Program.  The new hanger is 70’ by 70’ with an 18’ folding door.  It is equipped with in-floor heating and plumbed for future restrooms.  “This is a terrific addition to our airport and we hope it will create opportunities to attract new partners at the airport,” noted City Manager, Clint Langreck.
