The Platteville Business Incubator can help with the launch of a new business. Incubator tenants get the support of business expert coaches, become part of a like-minded entrepreneurial community and benefit from below market rate rent.  Businesses may stay at the Platteville Business Incubator for 3-5 years, although some companies graduate sooner.

State organizations such as the The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center and Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation provide planning assistance and start-up capital to new businesses.

It was a winter snowstorm in 2004 that led former UW-P student Adam Wiegmann to a key business opportunity. After totaling his truck in an auto accident, Wiegmann decided to pursue his dream of rebuilding his Toyota truck as an off-road vehicle. He was quickly challenged by finding the right parts at a reasonable price, so he began to build his own. As he posted his ideas in web forums for off-road enthusiasts, people began to ask him to build copies.

Food Trucks are fun and they are a serious, booming industry with sales in the billions predicted for 2018. The Platteville Business Incubator is thrilled to be hosting three food trucks: Downtown Barbeque, The Lunch Bus and Our Kitchen. “We’re committed to supporting these food entrepreneurs and we have capacity to bring on added chefs into the Incubator’s 350 square-foot kitchen,” said Kate Koziol, Executive Director at the Incubator.
