Congressman Derrick Van Orden, Wisconsin 3rd congressional District Representative, visited Platteville City Leadership on July 7th, 2023.  Accompanied by his local support staff, Molly Bohn and Colby Lacefield, Congressman Van Orden toured the Platteville Fire Department and sat down with leadership to discuss current city challenges that may have federal solutions.  The leadership team shared the concerns that the Platteville Fire Department has outgrown the current facility; the bay doors do not accommodate for modern truck specifications and we lack adequate decontamination and air ventilation systems to help keep our Fighters safe.  Congressman Van Orden was very interested in our Fire Station project, expressing that support of public safety is one of his top legislative priorities.  The City of Platteville would like to thank the Congressman and his team for taking the time to hear our concerns and offering possible solutions.
