Be Part of the Conversation! PATH NEEDS YOU!

Platteville, Wisconsin (January 29, 2018) - Platteville Arts, Trails, and History (PATH) project is hosting a community conversation about arts and culture in Platteville. Share your thoughts on ways arts, culture, creativity, and history are part of your life and help shape a creative vision for Platteville. The Community Conversation will be held at the Platteville Public Library from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on February 8th. Childcare will be available, and snacks and beverages will be provided.

PATH is also conducting a brief community survey to help determine what our community likes, wants, and imagines related to arts, culture, creativity, and history. The survey should only take 10-15 minutes to complete and will collect different information than the community conversation. PATH encourages people to attend the community meeting and complete the survey. The survey can be completed online through the link on our website – www.platteville.org/path - or paper copies are available at the Platteville Public Library, the Mining and Rollo Jamison Museums, and the Platteville Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Platteville Arts, Trails, and History is an arts and culture project funded by the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town program. The goal of PATH is to bring the community together to decide what makes Platteville special and how we can use arts, culture, creativity, and history to promote these special qualities and make our city an even better place. In order to develop this shared vision for our community, we need broad community involvement.

PATH is a partnership between the City of Platteville, Arts Wisconsin, and community organizations. The project will produce a Creative Community Plan for Platteville and a celebration project. The format of the celebration project will be decided through the planning process and public input; it could be a piece of public art, sculpture, mural, mosaic, musical performance, theater production, poetry reading, environmental project, or something else entirely.

Mark your calendars for the PATH community conversations meeting on February 8th. Watch our website, Facebook page, and local media for more opportunities to participate in PATH events, meetings, and surveys. Be a part of the future vision for arts and culture in our community.
