Clayton Brothers Provide Generous Gifts to Platteville Parks and Recreation Programming

t

The City of Platteville received notification that Cyril V. Clayton has left $323,044.80 in an irrevocable trust, to benefit parks and recreation programming.  This donation is in addition to the $279,905.76 which was recently received from Cyril’s brother Orlo, as part of the Orlo J. Clayton estate.

“This will truly be a gift that keeps on giving” says Luke Peters the City’s Recreation Coordinator. Adding, “It is right in line with the goals of our recently established Platteville Parks Endowment Fund.” While this donation will not be a part of the endowment fund it will act in similar manor. The initial principal will be invested and each year income from that investment shall be made available to the City.

Cyril had worked for the City of Platteville Street Department and Orlo was a custodian for the Platteville Public Schools.
