Asbestos Abatement and Lead Removal – Former OE Gray School

Bid Opening: Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., C.D.T.
The City of Platteville, for this project, will receive bids by sealed paper copy. Sealed paper bids shall be delivered to the Project Manager:  Environmental Management Consulting, Inc.  Attention:  Mr. Thomas J. Bushman, W7748 County Highway V, Lake Mills, WI  53551-9643.  All bids will be publicly read aloud during the public bid opening that will be held at the office of the Project Manager at the above address.

Description of Work:
The Project consists of Asbestos Abatement and Lead Removal in accordance with all applicable regulations as described in the Project Manual and Drawings.

Bidding Documents:
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is Environmental Management Consulting, Inc.  Attention:  Mr. Thomas J. Bushman, W7748 County Highway V, Lake Mills, WI  53551-9643.    Bidding documents will be made available to Prospective Bidders after Wednesday June 26, 2024.  Electronic format of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office.  Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office.  Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Consideration of Bids:
No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount bid, payable to the OWNER as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract.  The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the Bidder as soon as the contract is signed.  If after 15 days the Bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the OWNER as liquidated damages.

BIDDER is required to deliver the original certified check or bid bond within 72 hours of bid opening to the Project Manager.

Bids may not be withdrawn within 90 days after the date of the bid opening.  The OWNER reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantity of any item or portion of the work, or to omit portions of the work, as may be deemed necessary by the OWNER, and the same shall in no way affect or make void the contract, except those additions to, or deductions from, the contract price will be appropriately made.  The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids, or any part of a bid, and to award the Contract to the Bidder, who in the judgment of the OWNER, will best serve the interest of the OWNER. 

Pre-Bid Conference:
A mandatory pre-bid conference and walk through for bidders will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the former OE Gray School, which is located at 110 W. Adams Street, Platteville, WI.  Bidders will meet at the Main Entrance.

Additional Conditions:
The letting of the work described herein is subject to the provisions of Sections 62.15 and 66.0901.
