REAL ESTATE PROPERTY TAXES

***PROPERTY TAX BILLS WERE MAILED ON 12/16/2024 - If you have not received your copy yet, we recommend visiting the Grant County Web Portal to view the amounts owed. Search your address, click on "Taxes" at the top of the web page to get the break down of amounts and totals. If you would like an additional copy of the Tax bill please stop in the office at 75 N Bonson Street to pick one up. 

City of Platteville's 1st Installment of real estate property taxes are due by January 31, 2025. There are 3 ways to pay:

  • In person: Finance Office in City Hall, 75 N Bonson St, Platteville WI 53818
  • By Mail: City of Platteville, PO Box 780, Platteville, WI 53818-0780
  • Online: Click Here
    • Credit/Debit Card Fees: Third party convenience fee of 2.39% applies, with a minimum charge of $1.50.
    • E-Checks: Third party convenience fee of $1.50 for payments up to $10,000, and $10.00 for payments above $10,000.

If a receipt is needed, please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope OR provide an email address.

The Treasurer/Finance Office is responsible for the financial management of the City.  Some of the specific responsibilities of this department include:

  • Processing of City payroll and City bills;
  • Collection of City revenues;
  • Compliance with State and Federal reports;
  • Collection of Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes;
  • Selling of recycling bins and garbage bags;
  • Assembling of the City budget;
  • Processing of City insurance claims;
  • Pursuit of collection of delinquent Personal Property taxes;
  • Preparation and collection of special assessments;
  • Maintenance of Greenwood and Hillside Cemetery records;
  • Answering questions and requests from the public and the City departments.
