City Leaders Attend League of Municipalities Regional Thank You Tour in Reedsburg
City Council Member Bob Gates (back row far left) and City Manager Clint Langreck (back row second from left) attended the League of Wisconsin Municipalities (LWM) Regional Thank You Tour in Reedsburg WI on October 9th, 2023. The event featured LWM Awards to State Representative Tony Kurtz and State Senator Howard Marklein for all their work and support on the recent Shared Revenue Act.
Representative Kurtz and Senator Marklein both serve on the Joint Finance Committee and were instrumental in the development of the legislation. This legislation is anticipated to bring in an additional $586,790.92 in state revenues to the city in 2024, and will continue annually thereafter at a rate fixed to the state’s sales tax performance. Now when people are spending in Wisconsin both the state and local governments are going to benefit. The city would also like to thank local area Representatives Travis Tranel and Todd Novak for their support in this legislation.
