City of Platteville Receives Grants for Roundabout Landscaping

Madison and Water Street Roundabout

PLATTEVILLE, WI – The City of Platteville would like to thank the Carmen and Eva Beining Community Fund of the Community Fund of Southern Wisconsin, Inc. (Markee Avenue Roundabout) and Inspiring Community, Inc. (Water and Madison Street Roundabout) for grants received to support the Roundabout Landscaping project.

Through thoughtful and collaborative design, the space not dedicated to vehicle movement is leveraged to reinforce and enhance the character of Platteville; to create a sense of place.  The City wants to start to "set the example” in public spaces of what maintained, beautiful and sustainable spaces can look like.  These roundabouts will now act as an attractive gateway to the City of Platteville.

The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin is a resource for area nonprofit organizations whose programs and services are working for the betterment of our communities. Grants from the Carmen and Eva Beining Community Fund have supported the arts, education, environment, health and human services and historic preservation.
