The City of Platteville is currently accepting applications for Human Resources Specialist. This position is responsible for providing HR (Human Resource) support with regards to all aspects of HR including policy interpretation, performance management, investigations, HR reporting, rewards and recognition, compensation, employment law, training, and development. This position will also be involved in coordinating strategic HR initiatives such as onboarding and new hire orientation, talent acquisitions and employee relations. Work relating to human resources is done under the direction of the City Manager. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business administration or a related field and 3 years of experience in personnel administration. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credentials, are preferred. Strong communication skills are important, including the ability to translate complex topic for other leaders, elected officials, and the general public. Salary: starting at $20.56/hour. The City offers a competitive benefit package. Position is open until filled with first review of applications on Friday, February 12, 2021.
