New Phones are a Double Win

Administration Director Valerie Martin with New Phone

This month the CIty implemented a new Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phone system. The VOIP project was managed by our outgoing Administration Director, Valerie Martin. Valerie is leaving us to pursue an even more noble cause, teaching business skills to high school students in Cassville. She did a fantastic job bringing in this new technology and is leaving us on a high note.

Our new phone system has a large variety of features that can be accessed from either the phone or our desktop computers. We can now receive voicemails via email, which is a great feature if you are frequently out of your office (like me). We were also able to add more direct dial lines.  For the staff, it feels like going from a used Pinto to a brand-new Cadillac!

Even better, with the review/rationalization of our phone lines, we are expecting to save around $15,000 annually starting with the 2018 budget. And that is why this project is the perfect win-win scenario!
