UW System President Jay Rothman Visits Platteville To Share Refined Vision And New Branding Initiatives
On November 29th, 2023, Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman visited the Platteville Campus to share the refined vision and new branding of the Universities of Wisconsin. The presentation began with an inspirational video iterating our campus's importance and impact on our students and community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqFOmB0K1T0 (Julia Welch - First Generation Story - UW-Platteville)
President Rothman then promoted the importance of a unified effort where all thirteen universities provide a balanced and shared portfolio of programs that meet the needs of their local region, but also offer specialized programs that attract from across the state and beyond, echoing conversations that Chancellor Evetovich and her leadership team have shared with the community and the campus through the recent budget alignment process and ongoing strategic planning initiatives. President Rothman spoke on the importance of higher education in preserving democracy and supporting the Wisconsin Idea. Local community members were encouraged to take pride in their campuses and to call for their state legislators to maintain and increase our investment in human capital.
