Bob Gates

District 3

Bob grew up in southeastern Iowa and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at Grinnell College. He later earned a master’s degree in counseling at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and then spent the majority of his career as a school counselor, working eleven years in Madison and nineteen years in Cuba City. Bob has lived in Platteville since 2001 and, after retiring in 2020, he began volunteering for the Platteville Community Arboretum, and he currently serves as secretary for its Board of Directors.  Bob is excited about his recent appointment to the Common Council and looks forward to future involvement in various community efforts.
