The Platteville City Council has confirmed the employment of Adam Ruechel as City Manager. Ruechel will join the City on January 6, 2020. Council president Barbara Daus noted, “We are excited that Adam has accepted our offer to lead this city. Adam and his family visited the City on their own, as a part of his application process, showing their sincere interest in becoming a part of Platteville. The Council identified Adam's strengths in strategic planning and implementation, economic development, and financial analysis as skills and knowledge that are essential in continuing the City's progress." In speaking about his new position, Ruechel said, “I cannot put into words the excitement I have for being selected as the next City Manager for Platteville. I want to thank the staff, city council, residents and business community for this opportunity. I look forward to becoming an integral part in continuing to ‘Pioneer the Good Life’." Public Administration Associates, Oshkosh, assisted the city in its search. Thirty candidates applied for the position. The council met twice to narrow the field, bringing three candidates to Platteville for a 2-day interview process earlier this month.
