Alliant Energy Foundation Contributes $9,000 to Event Center
Sheri Engelke, President of the Legion Park Event Center Committee, is pleased to share: “The Legion Park Event Center has been awarded $9,000 from the Alliant Energy Foundation for composite picnic tables for the new event center.”
Troy Pittz, Alliant Energy Strategic Account Manager stated: ‘Alliant Energy is pleased to help make this new event center possible for Platteville. We know many of our customers in southwest Wisconsin will enjoy all that it offers. We commend the Legion Park Event Center Committee for stepping forward to lead this quality enhancement for the community. The fact that it will serve so many of our Platteville area families is among the reasons for this significant award’.
Karen Kurt, City Manager, noted: “This new event center will be a wonderful enhancement to our Legion Park area. Our community will benefit from it for years to come. We appreciate the Alliant Energy Foundation’s support, the event center committee’s leadership and their fund raisers’ efforts along with our community grant writer, Angie Wright! They all make a difference!”
Gene Weber, Inspiring Community, shared: ‘We have collaborated for many years with Troy Pittz and the Alliant Energy Foundation. They have been tremendously supportive with tens of thousands of dollars of support for our trails, arboretum, library and many other community enhancement efforts. It comes as no surprise that they have made a significant contribution to the event center. Very appreciated!!!”
Donations of any size help whether it is $50, $20, $1500, $6,000 or more; all make a difference. Every contributor’s name will be on the entrance kiosk so their great, great grandchildren can point to it with pride someday knowing their ancestors cared. Those wishing to be a part of this effort may send checks to Inspiring Community, Inc. PO Box 503, Platteville, WI 53818 and note “Event Center” on memo line.
