Community First Bank Donates $10,000 to LPEC
The Legion Park Event Center (LPEC) committee is pleased to announce that Community First Bank has committed $10,000 to the new event center. Dan Engelke, Senior VP/Business Banking Officer, Darcy Bevan, Branch Manager/Personal Banker, and their Community First Team present the check to LPEC team of Sheri Engelke, Chair Person; Bob Hundhausen, Fund Raiser and Karen Kurt, City Manager, along with Gene Weber of Inspiring Community.
Dan Engelke, Senior VP/Business Banking Officer, noted: “I attended the initial public meeting on replacing the Art Hall and knew immediately that our Community First Bank would support this new event center. It will be a tremendous enhancement for our community that will benefit our customers and all our Platteville area residents.
Sheri Engelke, LPEC Chair Person shared: “We are pleased to see Community First Bank contribute. All of our community banks care deeply for our farm and city customers. This project benefits everyone. Checks are arriving every day now. We know we will fund the project and to show full community collaboration, we are hopeful the everyone will send a check – big or small – as in the years to come, we want your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to proudly point out your name among the hundreds that will be on the entrance kiosk. Every single contributor will be listed there and major contributors will be further recognized inside the event center on decorative sunbursts – the larger the donation, the bigger the sunburst ray.”
Donations of any size are important whether it is $10, $500, $100,000 or more; all are helpful. 1000 names on the entrance kiosk would send a great message about our community. Those wishing to be a part of this effort may send checks to Inspiring Community, Inc. PO Box 503, Platteville, Wi 53818 and note “Event Center” on memo line.
