Legion Park Event Center Committee Selects Eastman Cartwright and Delta 3 as Contractors
Sheri Engelke, LPEC Chair, shares: “Our committee has done our due diligence visiting with and gaining cost, quality and design information from several contractor candidates over the past few months culminating with presentations from the two finalists the last week of March. We are pleased to announce that our local Eastman Cartwright Platteville LLC organization has been asked to work with Delta 3 to develop a full set of specifications. We are pleased to see a long time Platteville builder aggressively seek out this opportunity with the plan to use local subcontractors. It will be part of their legacy in Platteville.”
Mike LeGrand, new Owner of Eastman Cartwright Platteville LLC, noted: “We are honored to be asked to build this badly needed event center. We are dedicated to building the best of event halls and plan to use many local subcontractors. We want this to be a Platteville project for all of Southwest Wisconsin.”
Our committee is now identifying and gaining cost information on the equipment needed inside the new event center. Some major items include room divider, epoxy floors, flat top grill, banquet tables and chairs, outdoor picnic tables, security system, sound system among others. These items will be included providing funding is available.
Nate Curry, President of the Platteville Community Fund, also announced: “PCF would lead an effort to place a door hanger on every residence in Platteville and the adjacent subdivision. The door hanger will educate residents on the project and seek their support. Kathy Lomax, PCF Director, will be seeking organizations to assist with this labor intensive door hanger distribtution effort. If you or your organization want to help in this effort, please contact nathanc@kopplaw.net.
If you want to join the hundred plus people who have already contributed, please send checks to Inspiring Community, Inc. PO Box 503, Platteville, WI 53818 and note “Event Center” on memo line. All donations of any size $25, $100, $500, or $5000 are helpful. Adding your name to the entrance kiosk would send a great message of our community collaboration for future generations. It will be part of your personal legacy.
