LPEC Receives $25,000 Grant from Woodward Communications Foundation
The Legion Park Event Center (LPEC) committee is pleased to report that Amy Wagner, Woodward Communications Foundations Director, advised: “A $25,000 grant has been awarded for the event center from the Grant, Iowa, Lafayette Shopping News and Woodward Printing Services via the Woodward Communications Foundation.” Tom Woodward, CEO and President of Woodward Communications, Inc, noted: “We all agreed the project is much needed for the community, it has been well thought out, and your team has done an outstanding job organizing the campaign in support of the project. The information you provided us certainly conveys how much the collective team working on this project has thought things through!”
Sheri Engelke, LPEC Chair Person shared: “We are very appreciative of the $25,000 award and Mr. Woodward’s kind words about our dedicated committee members. Clearly, they are leaders in our community.”
“The Woodward Communications entire team has been immensely supportive of so many community enhancements in Platteville over the years. They have been participated in scholarships, our trail, the library and likely many things I am unaware of. I do know they have always been there when we give them an opportunity to help. They are a very wonderful, professional organization,” commented Gene Weber of Inspiring Community. “We definitely want to thank Grant, Iowa, Lafayette Shopping News and Woodward Printing Services leaders, Kathy Neumeister and Melissa Salis, for their very proactive recommendation to their foundation that they fully fund the event center request of $25,000. Additionally, Steve Fisher, Publisher, TH Media – Woodward Community Media and General Manager, Woodward Printing Services – for his coaching and guidance over the years.”
Donations of any size are important whether it is $10, $500, $2,500, $5,000 or more; all are helpful. 1000 names on the entrance kiosk would send a great message of our community collaboration for future generations. Those wishing to be a part of this effort may send checks to Inspiring Community, Inc. PO Box 503, Platteville, WI 53818 and note “Event Center” on memo line.
