City Of Platteville Looks Forward To Continued Lease For Library Space

PLATTEVILLE, WI (June 25, 2024) – The City of Platteville is pleased to announce the continuation of its lease for the library space located within the Platteville Hotel Partners, LLC property. This partnership, which has been successfully maintained for the past eight years, will carry on, much to the benefit of our community.

While the owners group, Platteville Hotel Partners, LLC, explored the possibility of donating the library space to the city at the end of 2023, they were unable to secure the necessary authorization from their lien underwriter. Despite this, the commitment to a fruitful relationship remains strong.

City Manager Clint Langreck expressed his enthusiasm about the continued collaboration, stating, "We are excited about our ongoing relationship. The library-hotel complex has been a wonderful addition to the community and a centerpiece of our downtown. In speaking with the owners' group, we have been assured that future consideration for the donation of the Library to the City will be given. At present, we are happy to let our current lease automatically extend for another three years. Again, I want to extend our gratitude to the owners' group for making this vision happen and for supporting us in delivering services to the community."

Library Director Jessie Lee-Jones would also like to acknowledge all those who have contributed to the Library's success: "We would also like to thank our partners at the Holiday Inn Express, our Library Board and Foundation members, our volunteers, our donors, and our staff for the many continued efforts in making our library the gem that it is.  The City of Platteville looks forward to many more years of collaboration and continued memories made in this valuable community space.”
