Library Custodian (half-time)

The Platteville Public Library is accepting applications for a part-time custodial position. The Custodians are responsible for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for library patrons. This is a half-time (20 hours/wk) position, with a daily schedule of Monday through Friday from 7am-11am. The starting wage is $16.84, and this position is eligible for leave benefits, including paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal time.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine janitorial and general maintenance work to keep up the appearance and safety of library facilities and grounds, including but not limited to daily cleaning, disinfecting, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal, and snow removal.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning equipment, janitorial, and other building supplies.
- Assist with room and space setup for scheduled events
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with building maintenance techniques and attention to detail.
- Experience performing janitorial services in a commercial setting.
- Proven record of outstanding job performance and the ability to work independently while also being a team player.
- Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.
