The Platteville Public Library is seeking a friendly and outgoing individual with demonstrated youth services skills. This person will work with Youth Services staff to assist patrons, plan and execute events, and maintain library collections. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with children and families, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for literacy and community engagement. Work includes evenings and weekends in rotation.

Required Skills: Strong communication skills, computer skills, research skills, customer service skills, adaptability, and the ability to work as a team are necessary. A working knowledge of the Dewey Decimal system is preferred. Previous library experience is desirable.

Minimum Education: Two years of study at an accredited college, university, or technical school.

Schedule: This is a half-time (20 hours/week) position. Work includes evenings and weekends on a rotating basis.

Wage & Benefits: Starting wage of $16.84/hour. This position is eligible for leave benefits, including paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal time.
