ATV/UTV Route Proposal - Council Work Session July 24, Council Action August 14

ATV/UTV Ordinance Rescheduled

The City of Platteville is considering establishing All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) routes on city streets.

Based on multiple requests for additional time to review the subject - including formal requests from the ATV/UTV “enthusiasts”, the Community Safe Routes Committee, the Parks, Forestry and Recreation Committee and several concerned residents – the Common Council President has decided to postpone the consideration of the proposed ATV/UTV ordinance and routes until August 14.

On Tuesday, July 24, the Common Council will hold a work session on ATV/UTV routes in the City of Platteville. Members of the public are invited to share feedback on the proposed routes during the meeting. The work session will be held immediately following the regularly scheduled Council Meeting which starts at 7 p.m.

You can view the proposed route map and ordinance in the attachments below.

If you have questions regarding the ordinance and proposed routes, please contact Police Chief Doug McKinley at (608) 348-9741 ext. 2309 or mckinleyd@platteville.org. The Common Council is expected to consider the matter at the August 14 Common Council Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
