The Platteville Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer to fill an immediate opening and establish an eligibility pool for future openings. The Platteville Police Department places an emphasis on career development for all employees, with continuing advanced training throughout your employment. Our department places an emphasis on ethical, service-oriented policing. We are seeking candidates who are energetic, outgoing, and interested in working in a fun, but challenging work environment.

Beginning pay is $24.25 with step increases to $31.44. Those seeking lateral transfer from a comparable law enforcement department are encouraged to apply, with consideration given in the areas of compensation, time off, and benefits.  Completion of 60 college credits is required. Candidates should submit a DJ-LE-330 application (found in the Supporting Documents section below).  Applications are due Friday, March 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.  Written tests, physical fitness testing, and the first round of interviews for selected candidates will be on Saturday, March 26th, 2022, beginning at 8:00 a.m.  At this time, there are no alternative dates offered.
