Final Platteville Housing Study Public Presentation to be held Tuesday, March 12 During Council Meeting
The City of Platteville, with assistance from several community partners, hired Vierbicher Associates to conduct a housing study and needs analysis. This study gathered housing information and looked at a variety of housing issues for the Platteville area. The results of this study will help elected officials, City staff, stakeholders and community members develop a meaningful sense of the housing market, as well as an understanding of key housing issues and how they impact the community. The report is intended to provide a basis for formulating community-specific housing priorities, policy alternatives and intervention strategies, including land use and zoning decisions, and help guide decisions related to the allocation of public funds and other resources.
The preliminary housing study report is complete, and we are now ready to present the document to the public. The City is interested in receiving input on the study and answering questions regarding the study and the report.
There are three public presentations and Q&A sessions scheduled:
Monday, February 25th at 5:30 p.m.: Presentation and Public Open House at OE Gray school prior to the School Board meeting.
Monday, March 4th at 7:00 p.m.: Presentation to the Plan Commission in the Municipal Building.
Tuesday, March 12th at 7:00 p.m.: Presentation to the Common Council in the Municipal Building.
The City encourages all residents and individuals that have an interest in housing in the community to attend one of these sessions.
For more information see the draft Housing Study Report.
