Revised Deadline for Receipt of Absentee Ballots

The United States Supreme Court has overturned the federal district court ruling that extended the deadline for the state to receive absentee ballots until April 13.

Under this ruling, in order for an absentee ballot to be counted, it must be postmarked by Tuesday, April 7 and received by 4:00 pm on April 13, or hand delivered to the polls by 8:00 pm (ballots may also be dropped off in the box in front of City Hall by 7:00 pm) on Election Day, April 7.  Ballots postmarked after April 7 or hand delivered after 8:00 pm on April 7 cannot be counted.
