Dear City of Platteville Property Owner:

The maintenance work of all taxable real and personal property in the City has been completed for the 2020 assessment year. The purpose of this task is to have the current assessments show new values for all properties that had changes in the year 2019 within the City.

If You Have Questions Regarding Your Property Assessment
Accurate Appraisal, LLC, the city’s assessment contractor, will conduct Open Book discussions to assist taxpayers in understanding their assessments. The 2020 valuation discussions will be conducted by telephone appointments to ensure safety amid COVID-19.

Telephone Open Book Appointments will be available
Thursday, May 7th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Tuesday, May 12th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

To set up an Open Book telephone appointment please log on to www.accurateassessor.com and click the online APPOINTMENTS link on top of the screen, then choose your location (Platteville), choose your Telephone Open Book date and time, then enter your personal information including the phone number you wish to be contacted at. If, after the Open Book session, you wish to object to the assessment, please contact City Clerk Candace Klaas at City Hall or call (608) 348-1823 to file a “Form of Objection” and to schedule an appointment before the local Board of Review. You will need to file a written or oral intent to object with the City Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the Board of Review. The Board of Review will be meeting at Platteville City Hall between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 28th, 2020.

Appearances at the Board of Review are by prior appointment only. The Board of Review meeting is a formal proceeding at which the Board is required to evaluate evidence based on facts. You must provide factual information showing your property is incorrectly assessed.

Thank you,
