Watch the Spring Election Candidate Forum and Vote on April 4th!
State and local elections will be held on April 4th. Absentee voting is taking place through Friday, March 31st in the City Clerks office at City Hall, during the regular office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on March 31st). Stop in to vote absentee, or register to vote.
The City of Platteville and the Platteville Journal hosted a candidate forum on Wednesday, March 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The purpose of this event was to introduce the public to candidates running for Common Council, in addition to those vying for Platteville School Board seats in the April 4th Spring Election.

Spring Election - April 4, 2017
In addition to School Board and State contests, the City of Platteville will have two Alderperson contests – District 2 and At Large – on the ballot. Click here to view candidate profiles as featured in the "53818 Update" city newsletter.
Reminders
Photo identification is now required to vote! Most voters already have one of the types of photo ID required to vote.
City polling places are open from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. The City has two polling
locations, National Guard Armory at 475 North Water Street and on campus in Ullsvik Hall at 30 South Hickory Street. A voter can only vote at the polling location that is designated for his/her
address. Make sure you are registered with your current address ahead of time – it will shorten your time at the polls on Election Day.
