2019 Tri-Star Basketball Skills Contest Scheduled For Saturday, March 23, 2019
If you have children ages 6 thru 13 as of this March 15, 2019, and if they enjoy basketball, then the following information is for you (and them!).
At 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019, the Platteville Optimist Club and City of Platteville Recreation Department will be hosting their annual Tri-Star Basketball Skills event on Bo Ryan court in the Pioneer Activity Center on the UW-Platteville campus. Registration will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
At this event, young basketball players compete with others in their division (same age and gender) as they earn scores for performing passing, dribbling and shooting drills. First place trophies will be awarded in each division, with first place winners being eligible for the Southwest Wisconsin Optimist District competition on Saturday, April 13th, 2019, at the Mukwonago High School gym. If the first-place winner is unable to attend the district competition, the second-place winner is eligible to participate at the district competition. All participants will be awarded certificates of participation at the conclusion of the event.
If your kids would like to participate in this year’s Tri-Star Basketball Skills event, they need to show up on Saturday, March 23rd, with an application containing a parent/guardian signature. An application (see documents below), which can be completed and brought to the event, or parent/guardian can sign one of the applications available that day. Parents are welcome to watch the competition.
