Platteville Community Garden
The Platteville Community Garden started in 2015 with 4 spots and has grown to over 20 planting areas. Located on a city lot on Mineral St. across from Jenor Towers, it’s a welcome addition to the downtown area. It’s in a sunny location and there is water available. A locked storage container on the site has garden tools to share. It’s an easy walk from downtown and there is parking nearby.
The Community Garden is being managed by the Platteville Main Street Program. A $30 deposit is required to reserve each 4 by 8 foot space. At the end of the season when the spot is cleared, $25 will be refunded and $5 will go to the city to pay for water. Planning for the upcoming season starts after the first of the year.
