Position Summary

The City of Platteville is seeking applicants for a full-time Park Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance and groundskeeping activities for park facilities and city properties. This position offers a generous benefit package and a minimum starting hourly wage of $19.43 (commensurate with experience).

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and maintains park areas, including structures, fences, signs, benches, restrooms and playground equipment.
  • Performs groundskeeping duties, including mowing, planting, seeding, fertilizer application, weed control and preparation of athletic fields.
  • Removes snow from parking lots, trails, sidewalks and other assigned areas.
  • Assists with set up and take down of equipment for special events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related work experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Valid driver license and clean background check
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction skills/experience
  • Mechanical/Maintenance experience
  • Equipment operation, lawn mowing, trucks, trailers and skid loader experience
