Pool Manager

The Platteville Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications for a Pool Manager to oversee operations at the Platteville Family Aquatic Center (PFAC) for the 2024 operating season (June 3rd through late August). The Pool Manager oversees all PFAC operations, including staffing, training, scheduling, finances, and inventory. This position offers a flexible schedule and a starting wage of $20/hour.
Limited pre-season availability will be required to prep facilities, orientate and train staff, and create schedules. Please see the attached job description in the supporting documents section below for a complete overview of position responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Knowledge of aquatic center operations a plus but not required
- Previous management and/or supervision experience a plus but not required
- Lifeguard certification/experience preferred but not required
- Food service experience (working in a concession stand, restaurant, cafeteria, etc.) a plus but not required.
- Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of all operations at the pool
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively in order to communicate rules, concerns, and information; this includes the ability to speak to large groups of staff and patrons or give directions in the event of an emergency
- Ability to arrive on time to work and scheduled meetings, and respond to inquires in a timely manner
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and humidity
