City Held Business 151 Highway Safety Improvement Project Public Information Meeting on Thursday, October 28
The City of Platteville held a Business 151 Highway Safety Improvement Project Public Information Meeting on Thursday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. The meeting was held to discuss current progress and the general schedule for what can be done this winter and what will be done in the spring. Click here to view the meeting.
Current Overview
The contract is ongoing with a completion date of October 29. The paving and painted lines from Eastside Road to the east project limits is now complete. Subject to weather, the contractor will be paving the section from the Valley Road bridge to Eastside Road on Monday October 25. The painting contractor will be in within three days after paving to paint the lines for the three-lane roadway.
The roadway overlay portion of the project and two-way left turn lanes will be completed before winter. Unfortunately, the trail and signal/pedestrian accommodation work at the 80/81 (Water Street) intersection may not get completed this year. They will continue to work on the trail as long as Mother Nature allows before the winter shut down is necessary. All driveways that are removed to date, will be paved. Driveways that have not been removed to date, will not be allowed to start unless they can be paved before the winter shut down. After October 29th, liquidated damages will be assessed to the Prime Contractor until work is completed.
