Fall Clean-up / Monday & Tuesday, October 7 & 8, 2024
➢ Place items on the curbside by 7:00 AM on your normal trash pickup day and no earlier than
October 6.
➢ No loose garbage. Please bag and/or contain the garbage.
➢ Neatly stack items & bags in a pile no larger than 10’x4’x4’. Piles larger than this limit will not be
picked up. Scrap metal should be stacked separately.
➢ Brush and Yard waste are included in clean-up. Have items to curb by Sunday evening and place
separately from weekly garbage. Platteville $1.00 bags are not required for fall clean-up.
➢ This service is provided to one & two family dwellings only.
➢ Prohibited items will NOT be picked up:
Oil All electronics
Tires Hazardous chemicals
Batteries Appliances (including microwaves)
Anti-freeze Debris from major construction or remodeling
Insecticides

YARD WASTE DISPOSAL & WOOD CHIPPER
Yard Waste pickup is on Thursdays during the spring, summer, & early fall. The Wood Chipper will circle the town during the weeks of the first & third Mondays of the month.
Yard Waste must be placed in the $1.00 Platteville bags and at the curb for pick up. Bags are available for purchase at City Hall Finance office, Heiser Hardware, & Piggly Wiggly.
The Wood Chipper can take limbs up to 12 inches in diameter and should not be larger than two people can handle.
➢ Have your brush to the curb by Sunday evening.
➢ Brush and limbs must be placed at the curb with the cut end toward the street and stacked in a neat and orderly fashion. Larger limbs should be grouped together and placed separately from the smaller brush piles.
➢ Brush piles that are mixed or thrown every which way will not be picked up until they are piled correctly.
AUTUMN LEAF PICK-UP NOTICE : The City of Platteville Street Department will have the leaf machine in operation for the Autumn pick-up beginning mid-October until weather prohibits leaf machine use. Residents should rake leaves along the curb and NOT in the gutter.
