The City of Platteville seeks a Water Plant Operator
The Water Plant Operator performs duties involved in the operation of equipment and machinery at the water plant and wells to assure plant operates at top efficiency; performs lab test, maintenance, repairs, building maintenance, painting, cleaning and construction work on water mains, valves, hydrants and related structures.
This position reports to the Utility Superintendent. This position requires a high school education or GED equivalent. One year of other schooling to include ground water training, or similar field is desired. Must possess a Wisconsin Water Operators License G-T, D-T, and I-T or be able to obtain in one year or 2 DNR testing cycles. Have a valid CDL with B, C, N air brakes endorsement.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a high ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions, have a working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in water plant maintenance and operation activities as well as maintain a strong work ethic, and commitment to serving our residents.
