The Foreman is responsible for operating the WWTP as efficiently as possible, keeping in mind that the primary objective is to protect the receiving water quality by continuous and efficient plant performance. Maintaining plant equipment and plant area. Inspect records, observe conditions, make calculations to determine plant is operating effectively, and predict necessary maintenance and facility needs to assure continued effective operation of the WWTP. The incumbent will perform a variety of supervisory, skilled, technical, and maintenance work to ensure the highest quality effluent consistent with effluent limitations specified by the State Department of Natural Resources. This position reports to the Utility Superintendent and supervises a staff of 1 WWTP Operators, 1 Maintenance person and a Lab Technician. The position requires 3 to 5 years related work experience, 2 to 3 years of schooling in the field of water/wastewater or equivalent. A Wisconsin Wastewater Operator Certification including

Biological Solids/Sludge Handling, Processing and Reuse- Advanced

Biological Treatment: Attached Growth Processes -Advanced

Biological Treatment: Suspended Growth Processes- Advanced

Disinfection – Advanced

Laboratory – Advanced

Nutrient Removal: Total Phosphorus – Advanced

Solids Separation - Advanced

A valid CDL with B, C, N air brakes endorsement required. The ideal candidate for this position will have high expectations for the maintenance of our Wastewater Treatment Plant, a strong work ethic, leadership skills and be committed to serving our residents. This is a full-time position with benefits. The wage is based on qualifications and experience but not less than $23.34/hr.
