Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) reviews plans for building projects having an exterior effect within the Platteville Main Street Commercial Historic District , makes plans to the City's Plan Commission and Common Council regarding razing of historic buildings. HPC also educates the public about historic preservation issues and opportunities as well as the heritage of historic resources within the City. The Commission researches historic areas and landmarks within the City for possible local designation or to be listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places(Click to learn more about Historic Preservation in Platteville).

The HPC meets on the Third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers.

The Historic Preservation Commission shall consist of four members and two alternate members. The members shall be appointed by the President of the Common Council, subject to confirmation of the Common Council. The members shall be appointed for terms of three years.
